sampling and shit Flashcards
List atleast 3 Probablility Sampling techniques
Simple Random Sampling
Systematic Sampling
Cluster Sampling
Explain Systematic Sampling
Systematic sampling draws a random sample from the target population by selecting units at regular intervals starting from a random point. This method is useful in situations where records of your target population already exist, such as records of an agency’s clients, enrollment lists of university students, or a company’s employment records.
Explain Cluster Sampling
Cluster sampling is the process of dividing the target population into groups, called clusters. A randomly selected subsection of these groups then forms your sample.
Explain Simple Random Sampling
Simple Random Sampling : With simple random sampling each participant has an equal probability of being selected and there are no predetermined conditions that would prevent someone from participating as it is all completely random.
What is Response rate
response rate refers to the number of people who completed your survey divided by the number of people who make up the total sample group.
Define triangulation
THE TERM TRIANGULATION REFERS TO THE PRACTICE OF USING MULTIPLE SOURCES OF DATA OR MULTIPLE APPROACHES TO
ANALYZING DATA TO ENHANCE THE CREDIBILITY OF A RESEARCH STUDY. ORIGINATING IN NAVIGATIONAL AND SURVEYING
CONTEXTS, TRIANGULATION ALIGNS MULTIPLE PERSPECTIVES AND LEADS TO A MORE COMPREHENSIVE UNDERSTANDING OF
THE PHENOMENON OF INTEREST. RESEARCHERS DIFFER IN THE EMPHASIS PLACED ON THE PURPOSES OF TRIANGULATION; SOME
INVESTIGATORS VIEW IT AS CRITICAL TO ESTABLISHING CORROBORATING EVIDENCE, AND OTHERS FOCUS ON ITS POTENTIAL.
