A
Bases are compounds that can neutralize acids.

What is the formula when you react an acid with a base?
A
Acid + base –> salt + water

What is the formulae for salts?
A
The sum of charges on the ions in a salt add up to zero. This enables you to work out the formula of salts, knowing the charges on the ions present.

How do you make a salt?
A
A pure, dry sample of the salt made in an acid - base reaction can be crystalized out of solution by evaporating most of the water.
