Section 14
To sell or supply alcohol on premises or on a conveyance
Examples: Pubs, Restaurants, BYO

Section 17
Allows for consumption off the premises
Examples: Bottle stores & Supermarkets
What is a ‘club licence’ & what section of the sale & supply of alcohol act 2012 does it correspond with?
Section 21
Restrictions apply to people who are allowed to drink in a club, but cannot be open to the public. Members of another club with visiting rights & visitors of club members are permitted.
Example: Private Sports Club

Section 22
What information must be displayed at a licensed premises?
- Section 56/57: The license with hours of trade & conditions
- Section 214(3): The name of the on duty manager
What is the definition of ‘restricted area’ with regards to the Supply of Alcohol Act 2012?
Area is restricted to ages 18+
Example: Slot machine room
What is the definition of ‘supervised area’ with regards to the Supply of Alcohol Act 2012?
Minors must be accompanied by parent or legal guardian (this does not include restricted areas)
What is the definition of ‘intoxication’ with regards to the Supply of Alcohol Act 2012?
Observably affected by alcohol / drugs & must have 2 or more of the following affects:
1. Appearance affected
2. Behaviour affected
3. Coordination affected
4. Speech is impaired
What is the legal age to serve alcohol
16 years of age whilst under supervision of an adult employee

Section 243(1) & 244(2)
Section 243(1): Underage purchasing of alcohol from a licensed premises
Section 243(2): Minors purchasing alcohol at request of a constable acting in her duties.

Selling & supplying alcohol to someone who is already believed to be intoxicated
Fines for licensee & or manager:
$10k & or up to 7 days license suspension
Fines for bar staff:
$2000
Section 249
Licensed premises allows a person to become intoxicated.
Fine for license & or manager
$10k & or up to 7 day’s license suspension
