Indications for Salbutamol
A
- Bronchospasm secondary to asthma/COPD
- Prominent bronchospasm secondary to airway burns, smoke inhalation or chest infection.
- Release syndrome following crush injury.
- Known or suspected hyperkalaemia with ECG changes.

Known severe allergy

Actions of Salbutamol
A
- Is a Bronchodilator
- Stimulation of Beta 2 receptors causing bronchodilation

Salbutamol Dosage
A
5mg (2.5ml) Repeat as needed

Salbutamol Side effects/onset time
A
Side effects = tachycardia, tremor
Onset = 2-5mins
