Prayer at home
Muslims are allowed to pray at home.
Use a prayer mat, perform wudu and face Mecca.
Women are required to pray just as much as men and get just as much reward for doing so.
Personal prayer- talk to Allah on a more personal level.
Why pray?
Believe a person is closest to god when praying.
Five prayers were instructed by Allah so whoever does them will be admitted into paradise. Believe that prayer brings knowledge as by praying their heart is opened up to Allah and help them become more aware of Allah, and so more faithful. Muhammad considered anyone who doesn’t pray 5 times a day unfaithful. People who pray properly will benefit on judgement day.
Why pray so often
It’s spread in the day so that Allah is the focus of their minds all the time.when they are praying through the day they should have said sorry for their actions and be mindful of Allah and their dependency on him. Taught that life is hard and without him it would be very hard so the prayers they do gives them support. If they didn’t pray in the day their sins would build up and would be tempted by shaytan and be overcome by bad emotions.if prayers are accepted so are their actions. Prayers at mosque is together. They believe it rewards more than alone (27 times more)
What actual benefits to Muslims gain from prayer?
Praying together reminds them of the greatness of Allah. Reminds them that everything comes and belongs to allah. Encourages positive and respectful behaviour, reminds them of good qualities. The process to pray remind them of cleanliness, purity and determination. Standing with others remind them of the need to work with others as a community and the equality of all. This all adds up to their judgement in the afterlife.
Why pray quote
“prostrate and draw near to Allah”
