What is a Saint?
A Saint is a person who is recognised within the Catholic Church, because of the way they lived their lives, in service of God, and are definite to be in heaven. They lived ‘heroically virtuous’ lives.
How do you become a Saint?
Local Bishop researches person. Congregation for the causes of Saints reject or accept the application. The congregation investigate themselves and deem if the person pursued holiness on Earth. They must have done 2 miracles that are verified by doctors, and must be scientifically unexplainable. The second miracle is investigated. If all this has been signed off, the person is announced a Saint by the Pope, through something called Canonisation.
Who was St Peter?
He was an apostle of Christ, and the first Pope/head of the Church.
What miracles had St Peter done?
He healed a man named Aeneas, who had uncontrollable shaking and couldn’t walk. He also brought a woman named Dorcas back to life after falling ill and dying.
What did Mary MacKillop do?
She worked in Rural Australia to help with the education of young people in the area, and across the Tasman in New Zealand. She also formed the order of the Sister’s of St. Joseph of the Sacred Heart.
What miracles did St Mary MacKillop do?
She cured a woman of cancer in 1961, who prayed to Mary for her intercession. In the 1990’s, a woman with severe lung cancer was given a relic of Mary from her order, and was cured of her cancer.
Who was St Paul?
He was known as the 13th Apostle, and was the key messenger of Christ through the Mediterranean and in Greece. He brought many Gentiles into the Catholic faith.

He was once a hater of the new Christian movement, but was converted on the Road to Damascus, when Christ came to him.

He was one of the greatest missionaries, as he looked to spread the Word of God to the entire world.

He cleansed a woman of an evil spirit inside her, and many relics of St Paul and his clothing made those around him well.
