PPC - how can it be soiled and what do you do?
Smoke, dirt, grime, grease other non biological or HAZMAT
Use yellow bag, write name, reg & station on bag, tick soiled, place contaminated PPC in bag, goose neck the top and seal with duct tape. Place in laundry collection point at station.
PPC - how can it be biological (dirty) and what do you do?
Blood, bodily fluids
Use yellow bag, write name, reg & station on bag, tick blood/bodily fluids, place contaminated PPC in bag, goose neck the top and seal with duct tape. Place in laundry collection point at station.
How to prepare and clean PPC exposed to asbestos?
Use P2 mask and nitrile gloves.
Gently rinse PPC.
Use clear bag labelled ‘danger asbestos contamination.
Place PPC in and goose neck.
Rinse outside of bag.
Completed asbestos card - attach to a second bag and place first bag inside.
Goose neck second bag and place in station for pickup
What to do with your PPC after a HAZMAT incident?
Use clear decontamination bag on HAZMAT appliance (follow instruction) place a warning tag on the bag with the level of contamination (traffic lights)
Red- requires specialist cleaning
Yellow- decontaminated on site but requires further cleaning
Green - decontamination on site and ready to use

What are heat-related health hazards linked to firefighting? (8)
Fatigue, dehydration, heat stress and cramps, heath exhaustion, heat stroke, smoke exposure, exposure to the sun & smoke irritation.
Actions to combat heat stroke? (5 steps)
Implement immediate, effective cooling.
Remove person from the environment or heat source.
Remove their clothing down to underwear.
Sponge or spray the casualty with water.
Fan or expose to breeze.
