Q

What are the six trouble shooting steps for CompTIA?

A
  1. Identify the Problem
  2. Establish a Theory of Probably Cause
  3. Test the Theory to Determine Cause
  4. Establish a Plan of Action to Resolve the Problem & Implement the Solution
  5. Verify Full System Functionality and Implement Preventative Measures
  6. Document Findings, Actions, and Outcomes

Q

How can you avoid ESD?

A
  • By keeping yourself and the computer parts you are working with at the same electrical potential (grounding yourself to the computer device).
  • You can keep yourself grounded by either using specialized equipment or by periodically touching the power supply (Equipment Grounding).

Q

What is Electromagnetic Interference (EMI)?

A

Occurs when electrical signals from one device disrupt the operation of another device nearby. It can cause malfunctions, noise, or even complete failure in electronic systems.
