… He further intends to use his ongoing exploration and research of ways that the letter X has manifested within Mexican urban environments within his artwork. What I have seen in Chave’s prints supports his intention. In Chave’s 200 risographic prints, the artist has used the letter X in order to communicate and explore (in a variety of ways) how the letter X has manifested within the Mexican urban environments. As a result, the artist has been given an “opportunity to playfully reflect on how communities and individuals establish distinct identities”.
