How did Galileo Galilei go against the church?
He went against the church with his theory about the earth and the sun. He told the church their hair theory about the earth being flat and that the sun orated around the earth was wrong. What he discovered was that the earth was actually a spherical shape and that the earth rotated around the sun.
How did Martin Luther go against the church?
He was a monk/ scholar.
In his theses he talks about how he believes that the bible is the central religious authority, not the church. He also believe that salvation is reached by faith in Christ, not in good works. Luther also sparked the Protestant Reformation which was revolutionary in his day, just as going against the church in the first place was.
