What is MDG 2:
Achieve universal primary education
What is MDG 3:
Promote gender equality and empower women.
What is MDG 4:
Reduce child mortality.
What is MDG 5:
Improve maternal health
What is MDG 6:
Combat HIV/AIDS, malaria and other diseases.
What is MDG 7:
Ensure environmental sustainability.
What is MDG 8:
Develop a global partnership for development.
Purpose of MDG 1:
To reduce the level of poverty within a developing country through the development of strategies to promote employment opportunities, particularly for women and young people.
Purpose of MDG 3:
To raise the SES of women in developing countries though ensuring that females have equal access to education.
Purpose of MDG 4:
To reduce the number of deaths of children under the age of five.
Purpose of MDG 5:
To reduce the number of deaths of women that occur as a result of pregnancy and childbirth, and to increase their access to reproductive services. The aim is to provide women with the appropriate information and care to promote health before, during and after childbirth.
Purpose of MDG 2:
To provide all boys and girls with a full course of primary education
Purpose of MDG 6:
To reduce morbidity and mortality from HIV/AIDS, malaria and other diseases such as tuberculosis. Includes reducing the spread and providing treatment.
Purpose of MDG 7:
To maintain the qualities within the physical environment that are important and valued, such as water and forests, to ensure they are available for the future generations. This goal recognises the importance of sustainable development in policies/ programs of all countries to reduce and reverse the loss of environmental resources.
Purpose of MDG 8:
To address the needs of the least developed countries through he provision of assistance (aid), equitable trade arrangements, affordable essential drugs, debt reduction and new technology.
