• The boy was studied over a long period of time with the use of several different methods.
• Such as observation of the boy approaching the buttons and self report measures like interviews.
• This allowed an indepth analysis of the phobias onsent, progression and response to treatment whilst increasing validity of the data.

How was the use of standardised measures a strength?

Answer 2

• Standardised measures such as the Feelings Thermometer were used to collect data before, during and after the therapy.
• Which means the results were comparable allowing researches to see how effective the treatmement was.
• Facilitating an easy replication of the procedure
