Notoedres cati
A
Leads to nodoetric mange (feline scabies)
- cat often has pruritic lesions on ears, neck and face
- highly contagious skin infestation caused by an ectoparasitic and skin burrowing mite Notoedres cati.
- N. cati is primarily a parasite of felids, but it can also infest rodents, lagomorphs, and occasionally also dogs and foxes

Anal Sac Adenocarcinoma
A
- They have historically been thought to occur more frequently in female than male dogs –> older, spayed females
- Affected dogs may present for signs of hypercalcemia, the finding of a mass in the location of the anal sac, or pelvic canal obstruction (tenesmus, constipation)
- Hypercalcemia is a common paraneoplastic syndrome seen in dogs with this tumor –> leading to a presentation of PU/PD
- Signs of hypercalcemia occur as a result of alterations in renal and muscle function function and include polyuria/polydipsia (PU/PD), vomiting hyposthenuria, hypertension, skeletal muscle weakness, depression, coma, or seizures

Actinomycosis in Dogs
A
- Actinomyces viscosus causes abscesses to form under the skin in dogs.
- Lesions generally develop after a traumatic injury, such as a bite wound or foxtails (grass seeds).
- The most commonly affected locations include the head, neck, thorax, and abdomen
