In an Emergency …

What does the Interim Site Co-ordinator do? (initially the driver)

A
  1. Understand emergency and move people from danger (where safe to do so)
  2. Ensure appropriate emergency service is notified and brief them.. type, scope, status
  3. Maintain comms with Metro (10-15 mins)
  4. Get assistance from other personnel - relinquish function to most senior Metro worker that accepts.

A

A
  1. Deal with it IMMEDIATELY
  2. ADVISE Metrol ASAP
  3. All trains must STOP
  4. EVACUATE CARRIAGE
    - move passengers if can be done
  5. If beyond local control EVACUATE TRAIN
  6. If practicable use fire extinguishers
    - when safe to do so.

What 5 things happens if you get a needle stick injury?

A
  1. Thoroughly wash wound (soap, water, alcohol)
  2. Notify Supervisor or HSR
  3. Go directly to a Doctor
  4. Within 24 hours of attending the Doctor fill out the Workers paperwork and submit to supervisor
  5. You must go on the needle stick registry.
