Not in humans, but may be an increase in mammals.
how is muscle glycogen adapted to endurance training?
endurance training causes an increase in glycogen stores
How does GLUT 4 expression help this adaptation?
insulin causes increase in GLUT4 translocation into muscle - storing as glycogen. key enzyme = glycogen synthase.
trained individuals have higher concs of GS so higher levels of GLUT4 translocation
How does fat oxidation adapt to endurance training?
fat oxidation increases - IMTG and IMCL storage and utilisation increases
how are oxidative enzymes adapted to endurance training?
endurance training increases oxidative enzyme activity.

* SDH dictates level of changes in other oxidative enzymes
How can fuel use adapt to endurance training?
- can shift fat max to a higher relative intensity
- can shift from CHO to fat oxidation at higher intensities - able to use fat at higher rates of intensity.
