S1L6 Domains of Exercise Flashcards

1
Q

What is Critical power and what does it require?

A

CP= the highest power output that can br maintained over time w/o fatiguing
requires homeostasis and high but steady state in:
* BLa conC
* VO2
* HR

Q

What is W’?

A

W’ = power x time
* overall power = power output - critical power
* represents anaerobic capacity

Q

What are the domains of exercise - and steady states

A
  • low intensity –> below LT, BLa <2, <70%VO2max, steady state in <3 mins
  • Moderate intesity –> between LT + MLSS, BLa 2-8mmol/L, 70-90% VO2max, steady state delayed
  • Severe Intensity –> above MLSS / CP, BLa >2-8 mmol/L, >90% VO2max, steady state not attainable

Q

what is phase 3?

A

= slow compenent. slight increase in values to an almost steady state
* only observed at a high poert output
