Scratches and stab wound , scratches were not deep and depth of wound was unknown. An intention to simply wound was not sufficient for the mens rea of S18.
R v Morrison
D attempted to runaway from a policeman. Policeman ended up getting injured while chasing. Mirosson was convicted under S18.
