ENGINE FIRE, SEVERE DAMAGE,

or SEPARATION

A

1) Auto-throttle (if engaged) - DISENGAGE
2) Thrust Lever - CLOSE
3) Engine Start Lever - CUTOFF
4) Engine Fire Warning Switch - PULL

To manually unlock the engine fire warning switch, press the override button,
and pull switch.

5) IF the ENG FIRE switch or ENG OVERHEAT light is ILLUMINATED

ENG FIRE SWITCH…………. ROTATE TO THE STOP and hold for 1 Second

IF after 30 seconds the ENG FIRE switch or ENG OVERHEAT light remains illuminated

ENG FIRE SWITCH……. ROTATE TO THE OTHER STOP and HOLD for 1 SEC.

ENGINE LIMIT/SURGE/STALL

A

1) Auto-throttle (if engaged) - DISENGAGE
2) Thrust Lever - RETARD

Retard until indications remain within appropriate limits or the thrust lever
is closed.

CABIN ALTITUDE WARNING OR

RAPID DEPRESSURIZATION

A

1) Oxygen Masks & Regulators - ON, 100%
2) Crew Communications - ESTABLISH
3) Pressurization Mode Selector - MAN AC

4) Outflow Valve Switch - CLOSE
*If pressurization is restored, continue manual operation to maintain proper
cabin altitude.

5) Emergency Descent - INITIATE
*accomplish the “Emergency Descent” checklist on page NNC 3-4 if the airplane
is above 14,000’ MSL and control of cabin pressure is not possible or cabin
pressure is lost.

EMERGENCY DESCENT

A

1) Emergency Descent - ANNOUNCE
* The pilot monitoring will advise ATC and obtain the area altimeter setting.

2) Decent - INITIATE
* Without delay, descend to the lowest safe altitude or 10,000’, whichever is higher.

3) Engine Start Switches - CONT

4) Thrust Levers - CLOSE
* Reduce thrust limits to minimum or as required for anti-ice.

5) Speed Brakes - FLIGHT DETENT

6) Target Speed - Mmo/Vmo
*If structural integrity is in doubt, limit speed as much as possible and avoid high
maneuvering loads.

A

1) Control Column - HOLD FIRMLY

2) Autopilot (if engaged) - DISENGAGE
*Do not re-engage the autopilot.
*Control Airplane pitch attitude manually with control column and main electric
trim as required.

3) Auto-throttle (if engaged) - DISENGAGE
* If runaway continues:

A

1) Autopilot (if engaged) - DISENGAGE
* Maintain control of the airplane with all available flight controls. If roll is
uncontrollable, immediately reduce pitch/angle of attack and increase airspeed. Do
not attempt to maintain altitude until control is recovered.

2) Auto-throttle (if engaged) - DISENGAGE
* Verify thrust is symmetrical.

A

1) Airplane Attitude/Thrust - ADJUST
*Maintain airplane control. Attitude and thrust information is provided in the “Flight
With Unreliable Airspeed Tables” applicable to the aircraft engine configuration.
