Ruth Flashcards
1
Q
Why does the story of Ruth emphasize that people of all nations, races, kindreds, and tongues can become part of Abraham’s “seed” or heirs to all blessings of the Abrahamic Covenant?
A
“Ruth was from Moab, a land of unbelievers, but she adopted the beliefs of her righteous mother-in-law’s people. She became one of David’s ancestors, and Matthew mentioned her by name in the genealogy of Jesus. Thus, as is seen in the story of Ruth, “all who accept God’s plan for his children on earth and who live it are the children of Abraham.”
