What was the Objective of the Nazi-Soviet Pact?

A

Germans Side - If Hitler got a promise of peace with Russia, Britain would be forced to back down over Poland and Danzig. This was also to gain time to prepare his army to invade Russia.

Russian Side - Half of Poland was promised to be owned by Russia.
Stalin new that Hitler was planning to invade but he needed time to prepare his army to defend from Hitler.
