A

6-8 leaves mint first
3/4 simple syrup
-Lightly muddle-
1/2 lime in wedges peels down
-Muddle to juice lime-
2 oz rum
-Add ice and shake for 10 hard-
1/2 oz seltzer in glass
- Dump -
Top ice
1 oz seltzer
Garnish: mint sprig optional

Virgin Version:

At least 1 oz simple
Mint bunches
Light muddle
Half lime in wedges peel down
Muddle
Ice + Shake Hard
Little seltzer in glass
Dump
Top seltzer
Stir

Dark n Stormy

A

People get irritated if the Dark N Stormy is done with something other than Gosling’s so ask if whatever black rum I have is okay

Fill glass with ice
0.6 oz lime juice depending on the ginger
Ginger beer
-Stir-
2 oz Goslings floated on top
Garnish: Lime Wedge

Caipirinha

A

1 tbsp cane sugar or 1 oz simple syrup
1 tbsp seltzer or 1/2 oz
-Muddle-
1 half lime quartered
-Muddle-
2 oz Cachaca
-Brief stir-
Add one big ice cube and stir for a while

If you’re not using big ice cube to stir then put less seltzer

Hurricane

A

Educated Barfly:
2 oz dark rum
1 oz lemon
1 oz passionfruit syrup
If no syrup:
1/2 simple
1 oz passion fruit juice
Garnish: Blown out umbrella

Dave’s:
1 light rum
3/4 dark
2 passion fruit juice
3/4 lemon
3/4 simple
Garnish: Pineapple Flag or Orange or Orange with Cherry in middle

Anders Erikson:
1 oz 105 Proof Jamaican
1 oz Goslings Black
1 oz lemon
1 oz passion fruit syrup
- If no syrup:
1 oz passion fruit juice
1/2 oz simple -
Garnish: Wind blown umbrella or orange with cherry in middle of pick

History: Whiskey was in high demand in the 1940’s but was pretty scarce while Rum wasn’t. Therefore, distributors would offer to sell one case of whiskey if the bar bought several cases of rum. Bars then needed to find a way to sell the rum quickly and so the Hurricane was created at Pat O’Brien’s bar in the French Quarter of New Orleans.

Uses Creme de Coco as Sweetner
1.5 oz white rum
3/4 oz blue curaçao
1/2 oz creme de coco
1.5-2 oz pineapple juice
Gets blended in recipe so dilute with hard ice shake
Dump
Top Crushed Ice
Garnish: Pineapple Flag
