How should a cyclist behave in terms of clothing. Name four items and why they are important.
- A cycle helmet: Conforms to current regulations, ensure is the correct size and securely fastened.
- Appropriate clothes for cycling, Avoid clothes that could get tangled in the chain, wheel or obscure lights.
- Light-coloured or fluorescent clothing in poor daylight.
- Reflective clothing or accessory in the dark.
How should a cyclist behave at night?

- Be aware of traffic coming up behind you.
- Take extra care near road humps, narrowing and other traffic calming features.
- Take care when overtaking.

- Carry another passenger unless the cycle has been built to do so.
- Hold onto a moving vehicle or trailer.
- Ride in a dangerous, careless or inconsiderate manner.
- Ride when under the influence of drink or drugs, including medicine.
