What is the Core Quadrant Model
a structures, positive way of looking at observable behavior
The 4 interlinked quadrants of the CQM are:
Core quality, Pitfall, Challenge, Allergy
What is Core Quality
Our strengths, always defined in positive, observable behavioral terms
What is Pitfall
Our weaknesses and shortcomings, CQM uses pitfalls in a constructive way
What is Challenge
The challenge is the positive opposite of Pitfall, needs to match your personal challenge
What is Allergy
It discloses allergies we have to other people’s behavior, also qualities in disguise. Allergy is opposite of core quality and too much of a challenge.
We must be aware
of our own cultural core quadrant and learn to see the world not as we are, but how it really is
Without realizing it
we can damage a situation and hurt someone’s feelings by ignoring their cultural needs
