RULE IV- VI Flashcards
What are the Types of Construction
Type I - wood construction
Type II - wood construction with protective fire-resistant materials and 1 - hr fire resistive throughout
Type III - masonry and wood construction with 1-hr fire resistive throughout
Type IV - shall be steel , iron, concrete or masonry construction
Type V - 4-hr fire-resistive throughout and the structural elements shall be steel, iron, concrete or masonry construction
shall be four-hour fire-resistive throughout and the structural elements shall be of steel, iron, concrete or masonry construction
type V
shall be of wood construction with protective fire-resistant materials and 1-hr fire resistive throughout, except, that permanents non-bearing partitions may use fore-retardant treated wood within the framing assembly with 1hr resistivity.
Type II
Shall be of wood construction. The structural elements may be any of the materials permitted by the Code.
Type I
shall be of masonry and wood construction. Structural elements may be any of the materials permitted by the Code provided, the the building shall be 1- hr fire resistive throughout. Exterior walls shall be incombustible fire-resistive construction.
Type III
shall be steel ,iron, concrete or masonry construction and walls, ceiling and permanent partitions shall be of incombustible fire-resistive construction, except, that permanents non-bearing partitions of 1 hr fire-resistive construction may use fire-retardant treated wood withing the framing assembly.
Type IV
Exterior doors and windows shall have ____ hr fire-resistive rating for all Types
1-hr
Exterior bearing and non-bearing walls of Types II and III Constructions shall have ____ fire-resistive rating
1 hr fire-resistive rating
Exterior bearing and non-bearing walls of Types IV and V Constructions shall have ____ fire-resistive rating
4-hr Fire-resistive rating
Interior bearing walls, permanent partitions, floors, and roofs of Type II, III, IV shall have ___ fire-resistive rating
1-hr Fire-resistive Rating
Interior bearing walls, permanent partitions, floors, and roofs of Type V shall have ___ fire-resistive rating for bearing walls and ___ fire-resistive rating for verticacl openings, floors and roofs
3-hr; 1-hr
Fire resistive rating for Structural Frames of Type II and III
1-hr
Fire resistive rating for Structural Frames of Type IV
2-hr
Fire resistive rating for Structural Frames of Type V
3-hr
A widely used method for testing building interior wall and ceiling finishes for their ability to support and propagate fire, and for their tendency to emit smoke.
