This division is responsible for the administrative investigation of all police misconduct, including violations of the law. Supervisors are responsible for reporting any suspicious behavior, which they knew or should have known was indicative of corruption. This behavior may include:

- Personal patterns of conduct that may come to their attention through any means.

Whenever any department employee receives a complaint, or is made aware of a complaint, through any means whether written oral identified complaint or anonymous, or whenever any department employee is made aware of any criminal activities, or allegations of corruption by any department, member, or other city of Boston employees; the employees shall adhere to the following procedures
- Notify a sworn member of the anti corruption division within 24 hours of being made aware of the activity or allegation by calling the anti-corruption division.
- Following oral notification, the employee should submit within 24 hours of written report detailing his or her knowledge of the relevant activities, or allegations directly to the commander of the anti-corruption division
- Subsequent communications regarding such activities or obligation, should only be between the employee and the anti-corruption division directly, unless the police commissioner, the chief of bureau of professional standards and development or the commander of the anti-corruption division determines otherwise
- Refrain from discussing a matter, referred to the anti-corruption division with any other individuals without the consent and knowledge of the bureau, commissioner the chief of the bureau of professional standards in development-or the commander of the anti-corruption division
Any Boston Police Department employee who believes that he/she has been the victim of harassment is strongly encouraged to initiate and complete immediately. In order to provide for the complaint ease in filing a complaint, several procedure options are available. The completed may choose to initiate the complaint by reporting it to Any of the following.(3)
- The district commander, or duty superintendent, under whose command they work; or if not applicable the superintendent of the office of bureau; or a member of the internal affairs division
- The Boston police department, director of human resources; the affirmative action officer assigned to the supervisor of personnel at City Hall
- Federal/state compliance agencies.
Informal complaint process
The informal process is designed to deal with a clarification of appropriateness rather than an investigation of facts. It may not be used if
- Either party dispute the material facts.
- Allegations amount to criminal conduct.
- Ask complained about are so egregious as to constitute serious misconduct, even if they are not criminal
- The alleged harasser has within seven years previously been permitted to resolve a complaint of harassment through the informal process
The human resources director should be responsible for maintaining records on all complaints and alleged harasses and any agreed-upon resolutions.
