What are the techniques for a dashboard roll?
- Vehicle stabilised, glass managed, door removed prior
- Add stability beneath the B post and move A post stability towards the rear to allow for the roll
- Make a penetrating cut at the base of the A post
- Insert the ram and sill support to support the load
- Make the top A post cut, observe the impact on the casualty
- Extend the ram, chocking as the roll is occurring
- Protect the sharp edges
What are the techniquest for a dashboard lift?
- Vehicle stabilised and glass managed prior
- Additional stability beneath the A post
- Cut the chassis rail, if plausible (time and access consideration)
- Cut out a section at the base of the A post, surrounding cut
- Insert and open spreaders to support the dash
- Cut the top of the A post. Observe the impact on the casualty.
- Operate the spreader to start lifting the dash
- Protect the sharp edges
