What are the offences for obligatory disqualifications?
M - manslaughter A - aggravated vehicle taking D - dangerous driving C - causing death O - over the limit of alcohol or refuse to provide a specimen for analysis W - whilst unfit through drinks or drugs
What are the fatal five?
use SUDDN S - speeding U - using a mobile phone D - drink driving D- driving carelessly N - not wearing seatbelt
what is the nemonic CLEAR - this should be used when we have a RTC
C – collision – what’s the level of damage, what services do we need, do people need to be cut out the car etc
L – Lead – take the lead In the investigation and agree who’s going to do it. For example – if they need cutting out, fire service should be the ones to lead and we will assist them
E – Evaluate – the situation, ambulance took first, fire took second and we took a look.
A – Act. Act as well as you can
R – Re-open – re open the road
what is a NIP offence?
Notice of intended prosecution - to notify someone that they may be prosecuted
offences that require N.I.P
D - dangerous careless or inconsiderate
E - exceeding the speed limit
F - fail to conform to direction given by PC engaged in regulation of traffic
F - fail to conform to certain traffic signs
L - leaving a vehicle in a dangerous position
A - aiding and abetting any of these offences
when can a police officer test a person for drugs or alcohol ?

S - suspect driver may be under the influence of either
A - accident occurs where the vehicle has been involved in a RTC
M - moving traffic offence has been committed
