Lidocaine (RSI)
-Dose: 100mg
-Suspected CVA/TBI, decrease ICP
Atropine (RSI)
-Dose: 1 mg
-Bradycardia
-Systolic above 100
What are the 2 sedatives (RSI)
Etomidate (Amidate)
Versed (Midazolam)
Etomidate (Amidate) (RSI)
Action: Hypnotic
Peak- 1 minute
Duration- 3 to 5 minutes
-Dose: 0.2-0.6 mg/kg SIV
-Hemodynamically unstable
-Fast acting hypnotic
Versed (Midazolam) (RSI)
-Dose: 1-2.5 mg slow IVP
-Hemodynamically stable
-SPB over 100
What are the 2 paralytics (RSI)
Rocuronium (Zemuron)
Succinylcholine (Anectine)
Rocuronium (Zemeron)
Action: Non-depolarization paralytic. Fast onset, Moderate duration (Onset: 1 minute, Duration: 30minutes)
Indications: RSI
Dose: .5-1 mg/kg slow IVP
SFx: Bronchospasm, Arrythmia, Hypotxn, HTN
Notes: Doesn’t effect LOC of pain sensation
Succinylcholine (Anectine)
Action: Depolarizing paralytic (Onset 30-60 sec, Duration 4-6 min)
Indications: RSI
Dose: 1-2 mg/kg
SFx: BradcyC, TachyC, HyperK, Trismus, Salivation
Notes: Premed with atropine for the salivation, Does not effect LOC or pain sensation
Pancuronium (Pavulon)
Action: Non-depolarizing paralytic. (Duration >90 min, Onset <5 min)
Indications: Paralysis
Dose: .06-1 mg/kg IVP , additional doses .01 mg/kg
SFx: TachyC, bronchospasm, Hypotxn, Apnea
Notes: Not analgesic, Doesn’t alter LOC
