describe the method for the stretched string wave practical
A
- set up apparatus
- switch on vibration generator so string starts to vibrate
- adjust tension in string or move wooden bridge to adjust string length so a clear wave pattern can be seen
- use a metre ruler to measure across as many half wavelengths as possible and divide the total length y the number of half waves
- multiply this number by 2 to give wavelength
- calculate wave speed by multiplying wavelength by the frequency on the power supply
