When drawing scientific diagrams what should you keep in mind?

A

Only use continuous lines / don’t use sketching;
Add labels (horizontal ruled lines, with no arrow heads, label lines should not cross over);
State the magnification;
Draw all parts to the same scale;
Don’t use shading or hatching;
Use at least 50% of the available space;

How to calibrate eye piece graticule.

A

Place micrometer through stage of microscope, Allign graticule and stage micrometer together.Count number of graticule resolutions into 1 division of micrometer.Calculate the length of one eyepiece division.

Without graticules, how can the student measure the area of the field of the view

A

Put ruler on stage, focus with microscope and use the ruler’s division to measure.
