RP5 Flashcards
When drawing scientific diagrams what should you keep in mind?
Only use continuous lines / don’t use sketching;
Add labels (horizontal ruled lines, with no arrow heads, label lines should not cross over);
State the magnification;
Draw all parts to the same scale;
Don’t use shading or hatching;
Use at least 50% of the available space;
Precautions for performing dissection
Wear apron,
Cover cuts with waterproof dressings
Using scalpel and cut away, forceps for holding tissue
Wearing gloves.
Clearing dissection
Disinfect hands, surfaces and instruments.
Put gloves.
What is eye piece graticule
Glass with scales in it.
How to calibrate eye piece graticule.
Place micrometer through stage of microscope, Allign graticule and stage micrometer together.Count number of graticule resolutions into 1 division of micrometer.Calculate the length of one eyepiece division.
Without graticules, how can the student measure the area of the field of the view
Put ruler on stage, focus with microscope and use the ruler’s division to measure.
