the neutralisation of an acid with a base

a metal oxide, a metal hydroxide, an alkali

how much of the base do you need to add ?
A
add till excess to neutralise all the acid

how do you make the crystals dry and pure ?
A
filter them and evaporate the water out

what do you need to be careful with about heating the salt ?
A
that you do it over warm water not flame so no harmful gases are released
