Definition
A
- Historical anachronism that reflects the fact the gov used to be carried on by or under the discretion of the monarch exercising their RP. Now have a Consitutional monarchy in which gov is done in name of monarch, but monarch plays v little role in day-to-day running of the executive.
- Once put into statute, can never go back.
- RP can only decline in power, hence.
- Pockets of RP still remain, allowing the gov (the exec) to declare war, grant honours…
