Night
The time half of the earth that is NOT facing the sun is nighttime (darkness)
Day
The time when half of the earth that is facing the sun is daytime
Revolution
Is a complete trip around the sun.
Summer
Is when the sunlight hits the northerner hemisphere more directly and the earth’s axis points toward the sun, summer is the time when the northerner hemisphere is the warmest.
Rotation
One rotation equals one day. It’s when the earth spins in a complete circle on it’s axis, which causes night and day.
Winter
Is when the sunlight is not hitting the earth as directly as it would in the summer and the earth’s axis points away from the sun, it is the time when the northerner hemisphere is the coldest
Axis
It is an imaginary line that goes thought the earth. From the North Pole to the South Pole
Year
A year is equal to a revolution. The earth takes 365and a forth days to make one revolution. In four whole years a extra day is added. That is the leap year. In that makes that year 366 days long instead of 365.
Tilt of Earth’s axis
Earth tilts on it axis 23 1/2 degrees. Because it tilts like this there are different amounts of day light at the at different times of the year.
Earth’s rotation time
Earth rotates every 24 hours. One rotation equals one day. Earth rotates from west to east.
Earth’s revolution time
One revolution equals one year. It takes 365 and 1/4 days to make a complete trip. After four years all the trips add up and we get an extra day which we call the leap year. A revolution is one complete trip around the sun.

Night- is when there is no sunlight, it is dark, we are not facing toward the sun
Day- it is light, sunlight is hitting the earth, we are facing the sun

The earth’s axis is tilted so the sunlight hits more directly on one place on the earth than another part and the earth revolving so parts of the earth get different seasons.
