How does roseola present?

1-2 after infection:
High fever (40C) that comes on suddenly, lasts for 3-5 days then disappears.
May be coryzal sx, sore throat and swollen lymph nodes

THEN rash appears for 1-2 days:
Mild erythematous macular rash across arms, trunk, face, not itchy

Management and complications of roseola?

Answer 3

Children make full recover within a week, generally do not need to be kept off nursery if well enough to attend.

Main complication:
Febrile seizures
