-shows how strong his love for her is
“Good capsules which name I tender as dearly as my own , be satisfied”
Romeo

-when he is trying to calm the anger man he uses the adjective good to refer to tybalt
-Romeo’s attempt to calm tybalt actually angers him more
-highlights Romeo’s growing maturity at this point
“Mercutios soul is a little above our heads either you or I, or both must go with him”
Romeo
-loses control of his emotions and attacks tybalt to get revenge
-shows how Romeo’s personality dramatically changes in an instant
-becomes obsessed with vengeance
-suddenly cares very little for himself or Juliet
“Nothing can be I’ll if she be well”
Romeo
Completely obsessed with his love for Juliet even while exiled
“Wilt thou provoke me ?
Then have at thee boy !”
Romeo

-feelings that he must kill himself to stop his unlucky fate from happening
