They were expected to be good wives and mothers and to run the household.

vestal virgins were priestesses who kept a flame burning 24/7 in the temple of vesta. they also had other jobs to take up like cooking and hair cutting. Vestal virgins had to work for 30 years.

When in public a woman had to be accompanied by a male such as her dad, Husband or brother
what was the promise of the vestal virgin? what would happen if they broke their promise?
vestal virgins had to swear that they would remain virgins for their whole lives and that they would take care of the burning flame in the temple of vesta. If they ever broke their promise to be a virgin they would be killed or buried alive.

In Ancient Rome woman could legally get married at 12 but most of them got married at 14, some of them waited until late teens or early twenties

they could be hairdressers or they could be a cook
what clothes did women wear?
women wore a loincloth and mamillare as underwear. Over their tunic they wore a stola, it was a long garment made of silk or cotton usually brightly coloured and belted at the waist. Lastly they wore a palla, which was a large woollen cloak or shawl.
what makeup did women wear?
women wore chalk powder and white lead to make themselves pale, mascara, lipstick and red ochre as blush.
