Like the boats (swans), they have to recover and get past the stormy weather which suggests that the couple needs to resolve their past disagreements.

Represents his father as an obstacle to his relationship as he is preventing him from being with his wife.
L= Punglish- suggests he feels not welcome there as he’s different to other. Emphasises how the speaker is British but different.
R= feels pity for speaker as he thinks he’s not welcome there.
C= this reflects how the poet is British but of Indian descent and he tries to portray the experiences of first generation immigrants to Britain in his poems.
