who were the first groups to settle in Rome and how did they influence Rome’s culture?
The first group were the Latins, and they were successful farmers and trader. They became rich and successful.
The second group were the Etruscans, they were skilled metalworkers and engineers.
The last group were the Greeks. They established 50 colonies.
How was the Roman government structured during the Republic?
In 509 B.C., the Roman Republic began after patricians overthrew the last Etruscan king.
How did the Plebeians gain more power than they had previously?
They were able to gain more power than they already had because they rebelled and made the Patricians compromise. Then in 367 B.C. one of the Consuls had to be a Plebeian which came to the conclusion that in 287 B.C. Plebeians finally gained the right to pass laws for all Roman citizens.
What was the Pax Romana and how did it affect Rome?
Augustus’s rule began a long period of peace and prosperity known as the Pax Romana, or the “Roman Peace.” It affected Rome because 65 million people were able to go about their lives in relative peace.
