The expert role. Clear “what you’re here for”, mostly limited relationship
Educating role
An individual level - educating patients
Bigger level - classroom education
Goal of prevention
Prevent bad things from happening for wherever we are in the prevention levels
Primary prevention
Reducing/eliminating risk factor from an at risk group
No present disease here
Secondary prevention
Early detection of disease during a detectable, asymptomatic period through clinical and population based screening
Tertiary prevention
Where we’ve been involved first and longest
Limits disease prevention - how fast it develops and preventing falls
