- Education and health of the labour workforce play an important role in increasing economy not only at an individual level but also at and national level.
- Education provides both theoretical and practical knowledge to raise productivity which leads to a higher income.

- Population is concentrated in the states of Maharashtra, Uttar Pradesh, West Bengal, Bihar and Andhra Pradesh.
- Hilly areas like Himachal Pradesh and Assam have low poulation.

- 70% of the people depend upon agriculture. So the thickly populated areas are eastern Uttar Pradesh, Northern Bihar and West Bengal which forms the Northern Plains.
- Population distribution in Kerala is 819 sq/km, in West Bengal 904 sq/km and in Rajasthan 10 sq/km.
- Industrial towns like Durgapur, Kulti, Burnpur and Batanagar in West Bengal are densely populated. Mumbai, Kolkata, Chennai etc are metropolitan cum business centre having the highest population.
- Mining centres like Raniganj, Jharia, Bokaro, Guntur and Singareni also have the highest population.
