What is the geographical distribution in India?

  1. 70% of the people depend upon agriculture. So the thickly populated areas are eastern Uttar Pradesh, Northern Bihar and West Bengal which forms the Northern Plains.
  2. Population distribution in Kerala is 819 sq/km, in West Bengal 904 sq/km and in Rajasthan 10 sq/km.
  3. Industrial towns like Durgapur, Kulti, Burnpur and Batanagar in West Bengal are densely populated. Mumbai, Kolkata, Chennai etc are metropolitan cum business centre having the highest population.
  4. Mining centres like Raniganj, Jharia, Bokaro, Guntur and Singareni also have the highest population.
