- condition 1 = unconditional positive regard ( when you are seen as an individual and as a separate person
thus making ppl believe you are trustworthy which removes the tendency to judge others —- to be the best version of ourselves we need to feel valued without judgement and we let others know how we feel through the things we say
-condition 2 = openness ( freely expressing yourself which creates greater self awareness aiding in development) as to be the best version of ourselves we need to see others being themselves
- condition 3 = Empathy ( we need people who are able to understand our POV as to be the best version of ourselves we need to know that someone understands us
- Rogers study can be used to explain the role of communication in personal relationships as we need someone who is able to communicate their feelings to us and also show empathy when needed which can only be obtained through communication
