To avoid foot match, hands don’t move for this
What is the key to smearing?
Get more rubber on the wall
What are the 4 (3) types of Foot matching?
Knife, Roll, Smear, Hop
What are the 3 types of flagging?
Inside, Outside and Standard
What are 2 common movement techniques used to climb dihedrals?
Stemming and Palming
What is “bumping”
Moving the same hand twice in a row
Should your foot be inverted or everted for a heel hook?
Slight eversion
Used on aretes, steep terrain, or angling traverses
Describe the Twist-Lock movement
Bring hips to wall like back-step, Pull hand close to body, rotate hips to wall and push into foot holds with feet to lock body in
Where should your back foot be in a drop knee?
At or Above hip height
What is the difference between a dead point and a dyno?
Dead point the feet stay on the holds while a dyno the feet leave the hold
What are the 2 grading systems?
Yosemite Decimal System and the V-grade (aka Waiko) system
