R v Skivington, have to prove theft to prove robbery
When is a robbery complete? Case law
R v Lapier, robbery is complete the instant property is taken, even if possession is momentary
Possession case law?
R v Cox, two elements to possession, physical and mental. Physical control, and knowledge and intention.
What defines ‘accompanied by’ in robbery? Case law
R v Maihi, must be a connection between the act of stealing and a threat of violence. Both must be present.
Threat of violence case law
R v Broughton, direct or veiled threat of violence unless money or property handed over. Conveyed by words or conduct
Case laws relating to the amount of people at a robbery
R v Joyce, at least two persons were physically present at the time the robbery was committed or the assault occurred.
R v Galey, being together, having common intention to use combined force directly in committing the crime
