Texans wanted to see the Mexican government resume U.S. immigration, Texas to be exempt from import taxes, and separate statehood for Texas.

Austin went to Mexico to deliver request changes from the convention. In the letter, he suggested to set up a temporary government, but when the Mexican authorities found out, he was jailed for one year. Austin then feared Santa Anna is becoming a dictator.

Santa Anna becomes a dictator and throws out the Mexican Constitution of 1824. He also sent his brother-in-law to deal with rebellious Texans. General Cos demands that everyone involved at Anahuac should be arrested and turned over to him for a military trial.
Summarize the Battle of Gonzales
Known as the “Lexington of Texas”.
Mexico demanded that the Texans give up all their weapons, including a small cannon they had with them. In response, the Texians made a flag that said “Come and take it”, put it on the cannon, and fired at the Mexican soldiers.
Summarize the Battle of Goliad
A week after Gonzales, the Texans won another battle. A group of 200 Texians left Gonzales and arrived at Goliad and forced the Mexican soldiers to leave. They seized the weapons the Mexican Army had at Goliad.

Known as the turning point of the Texas Revolution because the Texian army surrounded General Cos and his 750 men in San Antonio de Bexar. The Texians were trying to defeat General Cos.
What was The Consultation
Texians were trying to answer if they should align themselves with the Federalists who oppose Santa Anna, or should they seek independence from Mexico. These were known as war and peace parties, which in the war party wanted immediate independence and peace party wanted to align with the Federalists.
The Provisional Government
An ineffective government, as none of the politicians would agree because they were split between the war and peace party.

Stephen F. Austin left in the middle of the Texas revolution to ask the U.S. for help, leaving Sam Houston in charge.
Summarize the Grass Fight
Erastus “Deaf” Smith warned about Mexicans smuggling supplies and silver into San Antonio. Texians then attacked the train and found grass to feed the Mexican horses. This had shown the Texians that their siege was working.

Ben Milam convinced Texans it was time to attack, resulting in a short 4-day battle where only 2 were killed, including Ben Milam.
