Required Navigation Performance
Required Navigation Performance (RNP) is
- a STATEMENT of navigation equipment and service performance
- it is Area Navigation (RNAV) WITH navigation monitoring AND alerting
all RNAV approaches are what
all Area Navigation (RNAV) approaches ARE Required Navigation Performance (RNP) approaches
most USA RNP approaches are titled what
RNAV GPS
what about RNAV (RNP)
- they are only titled this in the USA
- they are approaches that are Authorization Required (AR)
- they require speaking FAA approval for the crew, aircraft, & operation
**in other countries RNP is in EVERY TITLE regardless of needing AR or not

GLS (GBAS Landing System) DA minima using GBAS
what are RNP approach minima and equipment (2nd type)
LP (Localizer Performance RNAV/RNP approach) MDA
or
LPV (Localizer Precision with Vertical guidance approach) DA minima require RNP achieved by WAAS

LNAV/VNAV (Lateral & Vertical Navigation) DA achieved by VNAV-approved WAAS or BARO-VNAV system

Advanced Required Navigation Performance (RNP)
a higher RNP standard mandatory for RNP AR, that require capability for:
- radius-to-fix (RF) legs
- scalable RNP
can gradually vary between 1.0 & 3.0 ( or as low as 0.1) RNP values
- parallel offset flight plan generation
