Enterovirus
poliovirus- NEUROLOGICAL; cause poliomyelitis, a disabling and life-threatening disease that infects the spinal cord, causing paralysis
Rhinovirus
common cold- RESPIRATORY; infections of the nose and throat; runny nose, sneezing, congestion
Rubivirus
Rubella (German Measles)- NEUROLOGICAL, SOMETIMES RISPIRATORY; infection spread by contact with mucous or saliva via coughing or sneezing; swollen lymph nodes, red, rashes, eye redness, fever
Rotavirus
stomach flu/gastroenteritis- GASTROINTESTINAL; infections marked by diarrhea, cramps, nausea, vomiting, and fever; spread by contact with infected person or through contaminated food or water
Influenza Virus
influenza- RESPIRATORY; can be deadly; attacks the lungs, nose, and throat; causes headache, runny nose, congestion, fatigue, muscle aches, fever, chills
Paramyxovirus
mumps- LYMPHATIC; infection that affects the salivary glands; spread through saliva’ swollen and painful salivary glands, fatigue, headache
Lentivirus
human immodeficiency virus (HIV)- IMMUNE; transmitted through blood, semen, or vaginal fluids; causes flu-like symptoms (sore throat, fever, fatigue); usually asymptomatic until it progresses to AIDS
Filovirus
Ebola and Marburg virus; CARDIOVASCULAR
