Rivers- Upper Course And Diagram Flashcards
V-Shaped Valley
When a river erodes it’s bed, eroding downwards, then the valley sides begin to collapse, forming a V-Shaped Valley
Abrasion
Sand+Stones scrape against the river’s banks and bed, wearing them away
Attrition
Stones collide with each other and wear each other away
Hydraulic Action
Fast flowing water is forced into the cracks in rocks, breaking up the banks.
Solution (Erosion)
Water dissolves soluble minerals from the river, making it loose support.
