All riders are Have a DOT number and have been tested.
- Beepers are on whenever they move.
- max speed 25 mph
- All riders wear helmets & reflective vests.

Random for all employees.
What is NSAA and why are we a member?
The National Ski Area Association has standardized the educational procedures for a ski area in response to directives from the ski area’s insurance carrier, US Forest Service, OSHA, ANSI, ADA, and HIPPA.
Also programs such as STYLE and ATML METHOD are developed for use by the ski area.
How are Terrain Parks Marked?
Warning signs - orange ovals
Informational signs: Smart Style, ATML, SPT and Skill Builders.
Who checks the condition of the terrain park?
Uniformed Park Staff
What is the areas protocol for pulling and marking tickets?
Identification of guest performing unsafe practices.
- Talk with one on one, explain why the observed unsafe practice is unsafe and to please stop.
If a problem mark the ticket with an ‘X’. More serious call for backup, security. Do not allow them to board the chair, do not chase. P
Any laws governing Skiier/Riders?
There are no llaws for skiiers/riders, however, inherent risks are involved with skiing.
Statute of Limitations to file against the ski area.
One year for adults to file 3 years to trial
Up to age of 18 for a minor, then adult
Why are Patrollers covered by the Good Samaritan Law?
As long as they practice within the scope of the training of the American Red Cross, Patrollers are protected .
Consent must be given by the guest and the ‘Good Samaritan’ must state their level of training.
What is an obstacle?
An obstacle can cause injury or harm to a guest and is easily seen.
Usually marked with boo and/or boo and banner guard.
Exception: lifts4 & 8 all obstacles are marked with fencing.
Employment at Snow Summit
Age 18 or older
Pass a physical exam
Pass training level books - documentation of training.
Volunteers must pass the same level books.
