Physical Exam Head to chest
“do not move your head” immobil
Vitals - 15” pulse, BP, strength
Head neck - eyes neck deviation
Shoulders - thumbs on clavicle
Arms - deformity bleeding, check pulse both radial at once check strength of grasp. Sensation
Chest -
1 remove shirt look bruising, scarring, flail
2 Sternum hands on chest ask for a deep breath. Equal expansion?
Physical Exam Abdomen down
Abdomen - expose check 4 bruising penetration evisceration
Palpate 4 quadrants tenderness rigidity
Lower Back middle point tenderness
Pelvic compress tenderness stability crepitus
Legs and feet - palpate deform bleeding pain. Pedal & post fibial pulse. Foot movement push pull. Sensation
Back check prior to loading in toboggan
Log roll and re-palpate back
Questions to ask before the start of scenario
Do I Have. Witness? Is there visible blood on the snow? What is the weather like? Is the scene safe? How steep is the slope? Is there a yard sale?
Things for the patient to do?
No rings or jewelry Pants that zipper on sides No hat or glasses Loose clothing for easy exposure Point to injury(s) with one finger Help with as many hints as possible

Radial. 80 mm Hg
