What prevention programs does our ski resort offer related to employees?
IIPP…illness and injury prevention program, located in patrol base to help reduce personal risk
What prevention programs does your ski area offer related to guests?
Responsibility code, smart style, trail signage, On MountainEducation and Awareness Program (constant on the hill education and common sense training from patrol to guests)
What is your ski areas helmet policy?
Not required, but recommended. We have a PAI specifically for helmets that have been in an incident.

When Stopping, position yourself to the side of the slope

What are your snow mobile policies?
Must do a Motor Vehicle Registration All riders must have DOT helmet All mobiles have a flag Maximum speed should be 25 mph Stand up when approaching break over Specific hill routes Must watch safety video and pass test Trained to understand each mobile (differences)
What are your snow cat policies and procedures?
Cats must notify resort wide when entering the hill and their location
Frown upon cats on the hill in presence of guests
A mo escorts the cat to act as a buffer
If cat is broken on the hill, green fencing is for marking it off
Identify types of red flag incidents, how they differ and examples of each
Implied threat (exaggerated negative response), life altering event (pianist who injures fingers and has no other means of income), premises or mountain related (rentals, ski school, lift ops, employee, collision, terrain park)

What is the importance of an incident report form?
Significance:
Legible writing
3rd party witness statements
Provides documentation of 4 Ps and pics
Minors statute of limitations is at age 18
Fill every box, 1st review, 2nd review by level 3 patroller, risk reviewer, back to patrol for system input

Safe method of working on the lift. The lock is tagged by the holder of the key. We have electrical, lift maintenance, area manager, lift ops and patrol

What are the NSAA programs?
Kids with lids, kids on lifts, sun safe on the slopes, tree well and deep snow safety, smart style, know the responsibility code, objects are closer, trail signage
How does Good Samaritan Law apply to ski patrol volunteer?
We are agents of the hill and when on the hill it do sent apply. Off the hill, we are protected by law to the extent of our training

What scenario would need an investigation?
Someone falling off the chairlift…70
Someone loading a chairlift…71, cause it involves employee instructing a guest to load
If there is a life threatening situation or threat of litigation… 66, notify risk immediately
An incident on a man made feature that isn’t life threatening or a slip and fall… 65, prepare for a litigation
Not probable litigation… 64, weather, visibility, snow condition, run density, and 4 pics
